Novamech  was approached  by  Envico Ltd  of  Takanini to  design a  set of  rapid  acting doors  for a  new  aircraft hangar at Auckland International Airport. 

Having worked with Envico for a number of years we were able to incorporate elements of their existing designs where appropriate, but also draw on our combined experience to design a system of sliding door mullions to allow aircraft to access the hangar.  Integral to the design is a mechanical locking mechanism for the door mullions, which had to incorporate a simultaneous lock at the top and bottom of the mullion interlocked to a micro switch so the door can only be operational when the mullions are locked in place.

By working closely the Envico on this project, Novamech was able to take the project from scribbled sketches to a full set of manufactured and installation drawings within a very tight timescale.  The doors are now installed and working.
