Personal statement: Over the past 21 years (since 1988) I have had a wide and diverse range of experiences within the mechanical engineering field. Starting as an apprentice Fitter & Turner in 1988 and progressing my career through to a mechanical design engineer some 7 years ago.
Over this time I have sought out interesting and challenging rolls, which have allowed me to develop exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills. Along with the theoretical & practical knowledge needed to allow implementation of innovative ideas in the most efficient way.
For the past 9 years, I have run Nova Mechanical Design, specializing in Machinery Design and Product / Process Development for some exceptional clients, both here in New Zealand and overseas.

A brief experience record:
2000 to present Director of & Design Engineer within Nova Mechanical Design Ltd.
1999 - 2000 Junior design engineer for a small design firm in South Auckland. Machinery Design & Project supervision.
1998 - 1999 Supervision, of university students, within Auckland Universities thermodynamics laboratory.
1994 - 1995 Vehicle production plant Installation fitter and HVAC engineering - (military equipment) while living in the UK. (United Kingdom)
1988 - 1993 Maintenance/Fabrication fitter within one of New Zealand's biggest heavy manufacturers, BHP NZ Steel Ltd. This has enabled me to be adaptable to new environments and people.
I have developed exceptional interpersonal skills and am capable of generating, developing and maintaining excellent working relationships within all levels of an organisation.
Personally I take great satisfaction in the challenge of working through projects from feasibility to completion.

Training: Fitting & Turning / Maintenance apprenticeship completed 1988 -1992 at BHP NZ STEEL, Glenbrook. This involved moving from plant to plant in 3-month intervals encountering a wide range of engineering environments, people & solutions.
